A BRIEF HISTORY OF THE "CRESCENT LIMITED

A BRIEF HISTORY OF THE "QUEEN & CRESCENT LIMITED.

The "Queen & Crescent Limited", an all Pullman, extra fare train from 
Cincinnati to New Orleans, was begun on May 1, 1926.
This train was similar to the "Crescent Limited".  Pulled by Ps4
Pacifics No #6684,6685,6686 and 6687 which were painted standard black
but specially lettered for the "Queen & Crescent Limited".
The cars used for these trains were all pullmans painted pullman green.
There were no coaches, and no extra head end cars.

  The President of the Southern, Fairfax Harrison, ordered other Ps4's 
painted green, after returning from a vacation in England in 1925. 
The remainder of the Ps4's #6688, 6689, 6690 & 6691 were delivered 
from the manufacturer in green and lettered for the "Queen & Crescent".
