STEEL

WHAT IS IT ?
 
STEEL is made from several ingredients and in several processes.  
Some of these ingredients are: PIG IRON, Recycled steel/scraps, 
and added metals to give the desired end product.

STEEL in the molten state is poured into ingot molds.  From there it is 
transported to the various mills to be rolled into blooms, billets and slabs.  
These are further rolled into structural plates, columns, channels, beams etc).
plate steel(coils), pipe, tubes, rods, bars, piling shapes, rope, wire etc. 

HOW IS IT SHIPPED ?
Finished products are shipped in box cars, gondolas, coil cars and flat cars.
WHAT IS IT USED FOR ?
Steel is the basic material used in making many consumer products such as: Automobiles, stoves, refrigerators, washer/dryers, locomotives, rolling stock, ships, rail, pipe, structural steel, all kinds of fasteners, in fact it is difficult to think of anything that does not use steel in its fabrication.
