PHOSPHATES

Phosphates are used in many products. Usually shipped in closed hoppers, unloaded by gravity or pnuematically. Here are some of the products:

•Food Ingredients •Pharmaceutical Ingredients •Water Treatment Chemicals •Detergents and Household Ingredients •Surface Technologies •Other Applications •Products By Industry Index •More About Phosphates

Albright & Wilson including joint ventures, is the world's largest producer of purified (wet process) phosphoric acid and markets an extensive range of technical and food grade phosphate products based on this derivative. Phosphoric acid is used in a wide range of applications, most notably providing the tangy taste in carbonated soft drink beverages.

Food phosphates are important in the processing of meat, cheese and vegetables, as well as cake and biscuit baking and self raising flour.Industrial phosphates, such as sodium tripolyphosphate (STPP) are key ingredients in laundry and dishwashing detergents. Phosphorus derivitates are mainly used as intermediates in the production of complex materials such as plastics additives, agrochemicals, lubricant additives and pharmaceuticals.
