AAR DESIGNATIONS for DINER CARS-1956

DA Dining Car, fitted with a regular kitchen, tables, chairs or seats, with or without bar and carrying cooks and waiters.
DB Buffet Car, a chair or coach car fitted with cooking facilities.
DC Café Car, fitted with a kitchen, one compartment used as Café where meals or beverages are served, smoking allowed, the other compartment fitted as a regular dining room or with a lunch counter or card room. Carries cooks and waiters.
DCL Lunch Counter Lounge, fitted with a lunch counter and other portion equipped with chairs or seats.
DD Diner Dormitory, fitted as a diner with sleeping accomodations.
DE Dining Car, fitted with chairs or tables but without a kitchen.
DG Grill Room Car, Similar to a Café Car.
DK Dormitory Kitchen Car, fitted with kitchen and as a dormitory for use of the crew.
DKP Kitchen Car, fitted with a kitchen for preparing meals to be served in another car.
DL Buffet-Lounge Car, similar to a Buffet car but is fitted with a compartment to provide a smoking, card or readinf room.
DLC Lunch Counter Car, fitted with a kitchen and a lunch counter.
DO Café Observation Car, fiotted with a Café, kitchen and observation.
DP Dining, Parlor Car, fitted with a dining comp't, kitchen and comp't for passengers, carrying cooks and waiters.
